   I do not know the details, but it seems that Blockbuster really "locked" the rights to this brilliant, heartbreaking French film. There are currently no plans to find this copy to the mass retail U.S. market, so your options blockbuster, import it from another region, one country or buy from someone who has done one of these things.

Although I have tried to babble on about the film itself, to countless reviews of this Cannes Film Festival Palm d'or candidates be found online. I will say it's one of the most beautiful, sexually open, thoughtful and melancholy period pieces I've ever seen (I am a cinema audiophile, I've seen a lot). A true masterpiece - Filmmaker Catherine Breillat is finally the film, I always felt they had done in the situation. (My opinion of her work at large, is that I always like what they try, but never found her films, engaging.) Think me too, Asia Argento has been criminally overlooked for her performance here comes from a joke a mature actress (see none of her early films) ... a wonderfully restrained, but still sexually brazen siren who, unlike many of her colleagues, "to act on." not (I think acting is her new maturity, why they worked with top filmmakers such as Breillat, and Assayas, despite their relative obscurity in the U.S.)

What if I want to address specifically, this version of the DVD. The Blockbuster version seems to be the same "unrated" version that played in theaters. I saw it theatrically and has watched the dvd, and while Blockbuster has a good reputation for editing / censoring their films, to my knowledge, I noticed that here is done.

(Be warned ... the sex scenes are fairly graphic, though less than Briellat earlier films.)
